Child Care Experience
I have worked in a emergency unit since August 2019 taking care of infants and children up to 12 years old. I give nursing interventions, CPR, provide intensive care and cup feeding. From March 2017 to April 2018 I worked in a pediatric ward, NICU and postpartum ward caring for infants and children up to 5 years old. I gave nursing interventions, bathed the children and cup fed them. Finally, I worked at a day care center in September 2021 taking care of children ages 1 to 5 years old. I planned the children's activities, taught them about basic health and how to care for yourself and supervised meal times.

I would like to improve and accumulate child care skill and bring the experience from the program to help children who live the border of Thailand. They have no chance to get properly fundamental need such as education, health care and rights. The au pair experience will get me more understanding about human, children, and stage of child development. I love to understand not only adult but also children. I am a good listener. And also patient to any situation. I think children need understanding and a listener who will understand them without bias. These are reasons why I think I am qualified to this program.

I babysat Joanna (5) and João (3) from June 2018 to December 2021, five times a week. I bathed them, prepared meals, put them to sleep and did fun activities. From January 2018 to December 2020 I looked after Samela (11), three times a week. I helped with her homework. I worked at child care CEJMA taking care of children ages 6 months old to 8 years old from July to October 2021, five times a week. I put them to sleep, bathed them, prepared meals, played with them and gave them a bottle.

I looked after Gabriela (7) and Vanessa (5) from October 2018 to July 2019. I taught them self-defense, prepared meals and helped with homework. I looked after Britany (10) from August 2020 to January 2021 two hours a day. I was her trainer and I also helped her with homework, fed her and read stories to her. I was a Taekwondo instructor from January 2019 to November 2020 teaching children ages 5 to 10 years old. I ran the training sessions, did meditation practices with the children, and supervised meal and shower times. I started babysitting Octavio when he born in September 2020 until October 2021. I changed diapers, fed and bathed him and did his laundry.

I decided to join the Au pair program because I enjoy sharing my time with kids, as well as it is a unique opportunity to feel more identified with its culture and traditions. I consider that entering this program is a great experience for everyone, since being able to help a family with their little ones is something that I love and I enjoy doing it a lot, since from children we always learn something and in turn, they are always willing to learn new things.

**Maria is willing to care for children ages 1 year and older** From September 2016 to July 2018 I volunteered at a school taking care of children ages 7 to 10 years old, once a week. I gave them catechism classes and played. I worked at a child care center taking care of kids ages 4 to 15 years old from March 2019 to March 2020, once a week. I gave them catechism classes, organized a vacation plan for them and played with them. I babysat Miranda (4) from September to December 2020, twice a week. I bathed her, played with her and put her to bed. From January to April 2021 I looked after Jose (1), once a week. I prepared meals, fed and bathed him, changed diapers, cleaned his bedroom, washed the dishes and picked up after him.

I decided to be an au pair because of the happiness I feel when I am with children, besides, I have always wanted to live an experience of cultural exchange and learn English in an environment where it is the official language. I decided to become an Au Pair because I love children. I have been taking care of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, middle childhood. The second benefit is this program gives Thais the opportunity to take care of children in other countries, which is a very good program and worth participating in. I think I have qualities to raise children such as understanding children's needs and feelings, being easy to get along with them, having good interpersonal skills, communicating, being calm, or having a positive attitude, and having open mind thoughts.

I want to be an au pair in the United States because it is such a beautiful country. The very concept of traveling is a fantasy, an experience that will transform my life in every way. I want to be an au pair because the more I think about it, the more interesting it appears to me; I adore the thought of having children in my care; I want interaction, emotions, and a challenge. I would like to be an Au Pair because it affords me the opportunity to travel and experience a new culture whilst doing what I love, working with children. My love for travel saw me voyage to Rome on my own for a European tour with fellow young adults looking to see the world on a budget. This forced me to make new friends and navigate my way around new, foreign places. It definitely taught me how to be more independent and resourceful. Human connection plays a vital role in education (as well as caring for children as their au pair) because if one does not connect with the children then they will not be able to relate to the activities and lessons you wish to carry out with them. I have been working as a teacher's assistant in a Brain Development Center since January 2021, with children between the ages of 4 and 12 years old. My responsibilities are to keep the children safe, play with them, teach them life skills such as drawing and painting and trying to teach them how to take care of themselves. From March to December 2020, I took care of Khunpan (5 months old) for 4 days a week. I fed him, bathed him, changed his diapers and dressed him. From February to September 2021, I took care of Tonkhoa (1) and Tonkla (3) for 3 days per week.
