Hungarian couples usually have one to two children, and it remains a somewhat low average number of children per family in Europe. The family is the center of the social structure in Hungary. Generations of extended family often live together and grandparents play an important role in helping raise the grandchildren. The family provides both emotional and financial support to its members.
After completing high school, Hungarians will either pursue post-secondary education or travel abroad, although some of them will start working. Hungarian au pairs will usually have child care experience through private babysitting of younger siblings and relatives, kids in their neighborhood, etc.
To obtain a driver’s license, Hungarians need to pass a written exam, take practice driving lessons and pass a practical test. The fees to get a driver’s license are relatively high and about half of Hungarian households own a car. Hungary also has excellent public transportation. It is always recommended that you discuss your driving needs with your au pair.
Hungarian students are required to learn a foreign language. Although it does not necessarily have to be English, it remains, together with German, one of the two preferred foreign languages. More emphasis is put on writing skills and grammar so you may found that your Hungarian au pair is more comfortable reading and writing in English than speaking. I want to become an au pair in the USA because I want to have a new experience living abroad and learning about a new culture specially the American culture, besides I really love taking care of children and I think it's a good form of living the experience and at the same time being working with something that I'm capable and good at. in the other hand I want to show my Venezuelan culture to my new family and friend. From September 2018 to June 2019 I took care of Aras (6) and Asya (1). We were doing educational activities and various street activities with the 6-year-old boy. For the girl, I was doing daily chores such as preparing food, changing diapers, giving her a bath. From May 2017 to May 2018 I babysat Ali Eren (9) ans Yagmur (1). I was playing with the little girl during the day, preparing her meal and taking her to the park. Since the boy went to school, I helped with homework and did various educational activities with him. From October 2020 to July 2021 I took care of Zeynep (5) and Medine (9). We played games and did educational activities together. I took care of them while their mother was at work. Some days we went swimming and prepared meals together. We went to park and cooked cookies for fun.

I would like to participate in the exchange program initially because I love children, I have had the opportunity to work with children of all ages and it has really been a very beautiful and nutritious experience, this has undoubtedly helped me to have better relationship with them, coupled with this I would like to know other cultures, other customs and at the same time share mine. I consider myself qualified to participate in this program because of my extensive experience and vocation in childcare, apart from that, my personal qualities such as patience, honesty and discipline, are fundamental pieces to be a good au pair.
